The Ministry of Foreign Affairs carries out its activities directly and through diplomatic missions and consular posts of the Russian Federation, representations of the Russian Federation at international organizations, and territorial bodies - representations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia on the territory of Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is appointed by the President on the recommendation of the Prime Minister. The Minister is personally responsible for the implementation of the powers assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the implementation of state policy in the established field of activity. The Minister has deputies who are also appointed by the President. The Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is appointed by the President.
